Required Fields

TrueGrade keeps required fields to a minimum so you can move fast. A required field is marked with an asterisk (*), and you’ll be stopped from submitting until it’s filled in. Everything else is optional — fill it in when it’s relevant, skip it when it’s not.

Daily Report

You must fill in:

  • Project
  • Date (defaults to today)
  • Site Summary — the overall picture of the day
  • Work Performed — what got done

Everything else on the report — weather, crew, trades, materials, deliveries, inspections, issues, delays, notes — is optional. Some of it is expected (you’ll get a gentle nudge if it’s blank), but none of it blocks you. See Missing Information.

Timesheet

You must fill in:

  • Project
  • Date (defaults to today)
  • Clock In
  • Clock Out
  • Cost Code — required to submit

Your total hours are calculated for you from clock-in, clock-out, and break — there’s nothing to type there. Break, work classification, and notes are optional.

Project Note

You must fill in:

  • Project
  • Note — what you observed

Location, the follow-up flag, and photos are optional.

Drafts are never blocked. You can save an incomplete timesheet, report, or note as a draft and come back to it. Required fields are only enforced when you go to submit.

Why These Fields Are Required

The required fields are the ones that make an entry usable later. Without a project, an entry can’t be tied to a job. Without a cost code, hours can’t be costed. Without a site summary and work performed, a daily report doesn’t record what actually happened. Keeping the list short means you’re only ever asked for what genuinely matters.

If you can’t submit, look for the asterisk (*) fields and the reminder message listing what’s still missing — filling those in is all it takes.
