PHIUS Tracking
PHIUS certification is the most rigorous energy performance certification in TrueGrade’s portfolio, requiring documentation, energy modeling, rater inspections, and post-construction testing. TrueGrade structures the entire process into discrete, trackable phases.
PHIUS Certification Phases
Pre-Certification Application
Submit the PHIUS pre-certification application and receive a project number. In TrueGrade:
- Attach the completed pre-certification application PDF
- Record the PHIUS project number
- Link the assigned PHIUS Rater contact (pulled from your contacts or entered manually)
- Upload the initial WUFI Passive energy model file
Design Review
The rater reviews drawings and the energy model for compliance with PHIUS+ targets. Track:
- Drawing set submissions and revision history
- Rater review comments (enter or upload as PDF)
- Responses to rater comments
- Approved energy model version
Construction Quality Assurance (CQA)
Rater performs on-site inspections during construction. For each inspection:
- Schedule the visit (date, rater, phase of construction)
- Record observations and deficiencies
- Track deficiency resolution with photos and notes
- Mark inspections complete when the rater signs off
Required CQA inspections typically include:
- Pre-insulation / framing inspection
- Window and door installation inspection
- Air barrier inspection
- Mechanical system rough-in inspection
Testing
Blower Door
Record blower door test results:
- Test date and technician
- ACH50 result
- CFM50 result
- Pass/fail against PHIUS target
- Test report upload
Final Certification
Upload the completed PHIUS final certificate. Record:
- Certificate issue date
- PHIUS+ Core or PHIUS+ Zero designation
- Certificate number
- Link to the PHIUS project registry entry
PHIUS certification documentation is automatically included in the compliance export package useful for project-owner closeout packages and lender documentation.
Rater Management
Add PHIUS raters to your contact list under Administration → Contacts. When assigning a rater to a certification, you can pull from this list. TrueGrade tracks each rater’s involvement across all projects, useful for companies using the same rater firm across a portfolio.
PHIUS Source Energy Targets
TrueGrade does not perform energy calculations — that remains with WUFI Passive or your energy modeling software. TrueGrade stores the source energy targets from the pre-certification approval and flags when test results are entered that fall outside those targets.
