Email Providers
TrueGrade sends transactional emails for compliance alerts, subcontractor invitations, report digests, and team notifications. By default, TrueGrade uses a shared sending infrastructure. Organizations on Business and Enterprise plans can configure their own email provider for better deliverability and custom sending domains.
Supported Providers
| Provider | Notes |
|---|---|
| Resend | Modern API-first provider, excellent deliverability |
| SMTP | Any SMTP server (SendGrid, Mailchimp Transactional, self-hosted) |
| Postmark | Focused on transactional email, high deliverability |
| Mailgun | High volume transactional and marketing email |
| Amazon SES | Cost-effective for AWS-native organizations |
Resend
- Create a Resend account and add your sending domain at resend.com
- Verify your domain by adding DNS records
- Generate an API key under API Keys
- In TrueGrade: Administration → Integrations → Email → Resend
- Enter your API key and your verified sending domain
- Set the From name (e.g., “TrueGrade Notifications”) and From email (e.g.,
notifications@yourdomain.com) - Click Send test email to verify delivery
If no custom email provider is configured, TrueGrade uses its default shared sending infrastructure. Emails sent from the shared infrastructure use a @mail.truegrade.build return path. Configuring your own provider with your domain significantly improves deliverability and trust with subcontractors.
Testing Email Delivery
After configuration, send a test email from Administration → Integrations → Email → [Provider] → Send Test. Check the inbox for the recipient email you enter. If the test email is not received, check:
- Spam/junk folders
- DNS records for your sending domain (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Integration logs under Administration → Integrations → Email → Logs
