Core Concepts
- Cost codes — the organizational backbone. Every estimate line and cost actual is assigned to a cost code (e.g.,
06100 · Rough Carpentry,15400 · Plumbing). TrueGrade supports MasterFormat, CSI, or custom code sets. - Estimates — the projected budget broken into line items, each tied to a cost code and scope item
- Cost actuals — real spend entered as invoices arrive, POs are issued, or receipts are recorded
- Variance — the difference between estimated and actual at any level: line item, cost code, trade, or total project
